World Swift Day: Appreciation

Happy world swift day


Every 7th of June is slated for the appreciation of swifts. Swifts are birds in the order Apodiformes. The swifts are a family, Apodidae, of highly aerial birds. They are superficially similar to swallows, but are not closely related to any passerines species.

To mark the day event: I have come up with the an event 

theme: Look up and see what's diving in air

A number of people only notice the flight of small long winged usually black diving in the sky but little did they know about them.

  • Are they relevant?
  • What role do they play in the ecosystem?
  • What type of ecosystem service do they provide?
