Wildlife conservation: A tool for economic diversification
Nigerian economic diversification through protection and sustainable utilization of wildlife resources was extensively analysed by the Director General of Nigeria conservation foundation (NCF), in his speech Alhaji (Dr) Mukhtar Aminu-kano, an awardee and the key-note speaker at the 3rd annual conference of wildlife society of Nigeria (WISON).
While giving his lecture he DG gave a detailed information on the effect of global warming and climate change on biodiversity. He presented statistical facts and figures on current situation of extinction of wildlife and forecasts of possible disappearance of more if crime against nature and gain population is not managed. According to him, Land-use changes and introduction of invasive species are among the major causes of natural resources degradation and loss of wildlife
"If trees ๐ฒ can provide Wi-Fi, everybody will grow tree in there purse"
In his remarks, he commend the effoee of wildlife experts for coming together to deliberate and share result of researchs.
Alhaji Dr Mukhtar Aminu-kano suggested four partnership models for sustainable utilization and protection of wildlife resources. These include;

Community--private partnership
Public-private- community
He said Nigeria has beautiful landscapes (Obudu hill, Jos platue), very rich biodiversity particularly rare species like Ibadan malimbe and Nigeria Cameroon gorrila. "If Nigeria develop her wildlife tourism we will generate more income"
The open ceremony of the conference featured high profile personalities, head of military and paramilitary forces, public office holders and renowned researcher of wildlife and nature conservancy
Among the is executive governor of Oyo state represented by the permanent secretary ministry of Communication, chief of army state represented by the GOC 2nd division, Alhaji Ibrahim Goni Conservator general of National park service, representative of commissional of police oyo state, the comproller of custom and immigration.
